Learning styles is the way that a person likes to learn and
a way that they retrieve and detain information. There are three types of
learning styles visual which is for the learner that likes to have pictures or
material to work from. Auditory is which like to record a lesson so they can
make sure that they do not lose any information and tactile is where a person
likes to do practical work not the theory work. Learning styles are important
because then people will be able to process more in there learning and if
people are not informed then they more decrease.
VAK which stands for Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic is
there so that people and find out what learning style they are. A way that they
do this is by completing a questionnaire. The importance of this system is so
that people can have a better understanding on how there brain likes to work.
VARK which stands for Visual, Auditory, Read and Kinesthetic
is about learning styles which is performed by doing a test. Most teachers do
this test so they can make sure that they are delivering the work in the right
way for the learners.
In the results of my learning styles questionnaire I found
out that I was combined between two learning styles which were Visual and
auditory. This means that I like to have hand-outs, materials and I also like
to listen to the teacher and make sure I do not miss anything. Also I like to
read something and to memorise it I like to read it out loud. The results that
I received I found that they were not as correct because some of the question
that was stated in the different section may apply to you but other may. A way
to do this is to make sure that all of the questions are relatively the same so
that people can get an accurate result.
I agree with the
results that I am a visual learner because I do like to take notes and to use
picture but I do not agree that I am an auditory learner because I would not
record a lesson a listen to it back. I prefer to learn new things by going
through a text book or getting hand-outs. An example that I can give evidence
for my questionnaire is that I regularly take notes so that I can make sure
that I remember all things said in the lesson. On the first website it said
that I was a visual learner which I agree with because that is the way that I prefer
to work and learn, which is similar to the questionnaire which was done in a
lesson.
The information that I have receive I will use in a later
date so that I can make sure that I expand my work by using these skills.
Having these skills then will allow me to use them in a job so that I can make
sure that I so the most that I can when working. When working it helps you to
expand your listening skills because your manager will always give out verbal
instructions. The ways that training happens when at work is by using textbooks
and by talking to say what are the expectation and the rules at where you work.
A way that they can change the way that they could do training is to talk about
things when walking around the store which will make it more enjoyable.
The ideal method that information would be delivered if that
there is hand-outs so that it if more easily to make notes and also I would
like to have more interaction into the training could include having discussion
in group and answer questions in groups. A way that I can make the training the
most out of training that is not delivered in my preferred method then I will
try and make notes and make sure that I listen to the deliverer more carefully.
