P6: Communicate technical information to a specified audience



 

 This is a piece of work that I have done for my Tutor Darren. This is for Unit 36 Computer Game Platfroms & Technologies and it P1: describe game platform types with some appropriate use of subject terminology and M1: Explain game platform types with reference to detailed illustrative examples and with generally correct use of subject terminology. It has been done in a word document and is a report. I had to do a timeline on the console from the first to the latest. This was for a magazine.

 

 

This is another piece of work that I have done for my tutor Darren. This is for Unit 36 Unit 36 Computer Game Platfroms & Technologies and it is for P2: describe hardware technologies for game platforms with some appropriate use of subject terminology. I had to talk about a games console, a handheld console and a mobile device.

 

 



P5: Use IT to aid communications

I have inserted a image of an email that I have communicated with my IT tutor Mat Smith. The email is about an assignment that my tutor emailed back to me me with feedback and I emailed him back with the ammendments.
In the email it says

This is an idiots guide which I did for my tutor Linda Swain. The unit is Unit 29 Installing and Upgrading Software P4 Record and complete a software installation. This met the criteria becasue it is showing that I have done the installation and and that i have recorded it which is the idiots guide. This is a piece of work for a non-technical audience becasue it is helping people out and how to do the differwent stages.

M3: Explain how an awareness of learning style can aid personal development

 

Learning styles is the way that a person likes to learn and a way that they retrieve and detain information. There are three types of learning styles visual which is for the learner that likes to have pictures or material to work from. Auditory is which like to record a lesson so they can make sure that they do not lose any information and tactile is where a person likes to do practical work not the theory work. Learning styles are important because then people will be able to process more in there learning and if people are not informed then they more decrease.

VAK which stands for Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic is there so that people and find out what learning style they are. A way that they do this is by completing a questionnaire. The importance of this system is so that people can have a better understanding on how there brain likes to work.

VARK which stands for Visual, Auditory, Read and Kinesthetic is about learning styles which is performed by doing a test. Most teachers do this test so they can make sure that they are delivering the work in the right way for the learners.

In the results of my learning styles questionnaire I found out that I was combined between two learning styles which were Visual and auditory. This means that I like to have hand-outs, materials and I also like to listen to the teacher and make sure I do not miss anything. Also I like to read something and to memorise it I like to read it out loud. The results that I received I found that they were not as correct because some of the question that was stated in the different section may apply to you but other may. A way to do this is to make sure that all of the questions are relatively the same so that people can get an accurate result.

 I agree with the results that I am a visual learner because I do like to take notes and to use picture but I do not agree that I am an auditory learner because I would not record a lesson a listen to it back. I prefer to learn new things by going through a text book or getting hand-outs. An example that I can give evidence for my questionnaire is that I regularly take notes so that I can make sure that I remember all things said in the lesson. On the first website it said that I was a visual learner which I agree with because that is the way that I prefer to work and learn, which is similar to the questionnaire which was done in a lesson.

The information that I have receive I will use in a later date so that I can make sure that I expand my work by using these skills. Having these skills then will allow me to use them in a job so that I can make sure that I so the most that I can when working. When working it helps you to expand your listening skills because your manager will always give out verbal instructions. The ways that training happens when at work is by using textbooks and by talking to say what are the expectation and the rules at where you work. A way that they can change the way that they could do training is to talk about things when walking around the store which will make it more enjoyable.

The ideal method that information would be delivered if that there is hand-outs so that it if more easily to make notes and also I would like to have more interaction into the training could include having discussion in group and answer questions in groups. A way that I can make the training the most out of training that is not delivered in my preferred method then I will try and make notes and make sure that I listen to the deliverer more carefully.         

P8: Follow a personal development plan

In the post about P7 I had talked about what information will have to be entered about the targets on to aspire. In the post I am going to talk about how my targets are going on.
My first target was to gain BTEC Level 2 in IT which i have achieved, I did this by complete all the assignments on time and completing all of the criteria. The second target was to get distinction* in BTEC Level 2 which i have achieved, I did this by getting Distinction in every assignment. The next target was the read my assignments carefully. I have worked on this and  reading my assignments more. The next target was amend unit 3/7 which i have achieve, i did this by completing all outstanding work. The next target was continue to work for distinction in level 2, I have done this and completed all assignments to a distinction. The next target is to complet unit 8-1 which I have done and got a Pass. The next target is to complete Matt's and Darren's assignment, which I have completed all of Matt's assignments but not Darren's. The last target is to Exercise more which is in progress but not going well.

P7: Produce a personal development plan

P4: demonstrate a range of effective interpersonal skills

I am an individual who can work on my own or within a team and am an effective member I have achieve BTEC Level 2 Diploma in IT at a Distinction*. At present I am on a BTEC Level 3 course studying IT where we have learnt how to install hardware/ software and have opportunities to do networking and also I have done Gaming. I was involved in the recruitment staff at the college by sitting on the panel and asking questions and feeding back on their performance. The reason why I chose to study IT is becasue it is the subject I am interested in becasue of the different component that are in a computer and that I like doing the the hardware like taking a computer apart. After my studies at college I would like to pursue my career in IT by working in being a Technician because it is the area in IT that is my favorite and that I am the best at.
